The FUN Way to STOP Heart Disease
Having a healthy heart is the key to having a healthier, longer life.
Because without one you’ll lose your mobility… and your mind.
And you probably think the only way to keep your ticker in tip-top shape is to exercise like crazy… and give up all of your favorite foods.
But I’m here to tell you that’s NOT TRUE.
According to new research, there’s a better way to STOP heart disease.
And you could have a lot of FUN doing it.
You don’t need me to tell you that vacation is good for you…
A time to get away from your habits, to see something new, to sleep in a little….
Now we know it has significant heart benefits, too.
Researchers at the Syracuse University’s Falk College of Sport have found that folks who went on vacations more frequently in the past 12 months have LOWER heart disease risk factors.
More specifically, they significantly reduced their risk of metabolic syndrome – a collection of symptoms which include high blood pressure, poor blood sugar control, and bad lipid profile (high cholesterol or triglycerides).
All of those improved in people taking more vacations.
Metabolic syndrome is a huge risk factor for heart disease, diabetes, and even cancer. So, avoiding this disorder could save more than your heart.
What is crazy about all of this is people tend to eat worse when on vacation – and, yet, their metabolic syndrome improves.
But what’s crazier? Studies show only half of the people who have vacation time take it.
It is becoming more common for people to skip vacation (and that is NOT good for our stress, brains, and health).
So, here is your official prescription to take more time off – it is good for you.
