The Gut Secret You HAVEN'T Heard About (Easy!)
Once we do something often enough, it’s easy for it to become old habit. This can be especially true when it comes to the pills we take.
You get up, have your coffee, eat breakfast, and take your morning vitamins. You get ready for bed, brush your teeth, and take your nighttime supplements.
But if good gut health is a goal of yours (and it should be!), sticking to this same old pill routine may not be as beneficial as you think…
Fortunately, the solution to getting the most bang for your vitamin buck couldn’t be simpler.
You should consider rotating your probiotic.
See, our microbiome is VITAL to our overall health. This collection of bacteria does so much for our body that it is no exaggeration to say we wouldn’t be healthy without it.
So, if you’re looking to keep your microbiome top-notch, taking a probiotic IS a great idea. But often, it’s not enough.
See, we are naturally exposed to new bacteria entering our gut all the time. While not as common these days, we used to be exposed to bacteria by eating an apple from a tree without washing it or digging a carrot out of the ground, wiping off the dirt, and taking a bite.
Those air and soil microorganisms would populate our microbiome and help keep us healthy.
Nowadays, everything is triple-washed and then cooked to kill those bacteria before we eat them.
So, in our modernized world, the best way to mimic those “old days” is to rotate your probiotic. Personally, I tend to finish a bottle and then buy another brand. If I notice a lot of benefits from particular brand, I’ll return to it often.
On top of that, you should eat probiotic-rich foods.
The best kind are fermented foods like kefir, miso, sauerkraut, yogurt, and kimchi. They’re all great choices and can give you a wide range of probiotic strains that bring different, good bacteria into the gut.
P.S. When it comes to gut flora, the focus should be on diversity and balance. And new research just revealed an unexpected tool that can help you do precisely that. Find out the details, here.
