The Ovarian Cancer Risk You NEVER Saw Coming

Cancer research is nothing new. In fact, we’ve been studying this killer since the 1800s.

Yet despite all that investigating, there’s still so much we DON’T know.

That’s why each time we reach a new milestone in our understanding of cancer, it should be celebrated.

And a recent study has helped us make another large leap toward one of those milestones.

In this case, ovarian cancer took center stage. And the milestone that’s starting to come into focus has to do with food.

You’d learn some surprising things If you asked a large group of folks about their dietary habits and then followed them for years.

Chief among them would be the connections between certain foods and the cancers that people later develop.

And that’s exactly what a group of researchers in the United Kingdom did.

Their study was recently published in the British Journal of Medicine. And their research revealed that the TYPES of food people eat have an ever larger impact on their cancer risk than we ever imagined.

Ultra-processed foods are highly manipulated. When being created, they go through many different stages which may include things like extraction, milling, extrusion, and molding.

In large part, they’re created out of ingredients such as sugars, fats, and starches that have been extracted from other REAL foods.

Ultra-processed foods include frozen meals (pizza, burritos, etc.), hot dogs, sausages, French fries, sodas, cakes, cookies, candies, doughnuts, ice cream, and more.

And according to a new study eating these ultra-processed foods doesn’t just bump up your chances of a diagnosis. It DRAMATICALLY increases your risk of cancer.

The amount of these junk foods that participants ate ranged from around nine percent to over forty. And for every 10 percent increase in the amount of ultra-processed food eaten:

  • the risk of developing any kind of cancer rose by two percent
  • the risk of dying from cancer rose by six percent

But it gets worse. MUCH worse, in fact. Because when you focus specifically on ovarian cancer, the numbers shoot through the roof.

For each 10 percent increase in ultra-processed foods, there was a corresponding:

  • 19 percent rise in the risk of developing ovarian cancer
  • 30 percent jump in the risk of dying from the cancer

Now, remember this wasn’t a cause-and-effect type of study. Instead, it was designed to show the potential link between cancer and certain foods.

And since this was the first study to show a connection between eating junk food and ovarian cancer, we will need more studies to confirm the link.

But we already know ultra-processed foods aren’t good for us. So you should cut back on them as much as possible.

Now I know that this is easier said than done. After all, these foods are literally designed to get us hooked on them.

If you find it tough to quit ultra-processed foods, see my earlier free report on breaking food addictions.

P.S. Ovarian cancer is often referred to as a “silent disease.” But researchers recently discovered that up to 70 percent of patients reported THIS symptom before being diagnosed with ovarian cancer. CLICK HERE to find out what to look for.
