The Tiny Green Secret to a SHARPER Brain
We all want to keep our brains functioning at their absolute best for as long as possible.
In fact, I bet you’re already doing some of the usual brain-supporting things like taking supplements, exercising regularly, getting enough sleep, and trying to keep stress levels in check.
However, you can add one more thing to your brain-boosting routine I’m sure you’ve never considered…
I’ll admit it might sound a bit odd at first. But when you see what it can do for cognition (not to mention how easy it is), you’ll run, not walk, to get some.
Spirulina is a tiny alga that packs a big nutritional punch. It contains a tremendous amount of protein, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.
It’s like a superfood on steroids, packed with goodness that our bodies crave. In fact, because of its concentrated nutrition, some folks believe this alga is the most nutritious food on the planet.
Spirulina’s characteristic blue-green color comes from pigments like chlorophyll and phycocyanin, which have powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.
In a double-blind, placebo-controlled study, researchers tested a spirulina extract on older volunteers with mild cognitive impairment.
Munching on algae might not sound like a winning brain strategy, but the results were remarkable.
Participants were randomly assigned to take a one-gram spirulina supplement or a placebo. They took three pills daily, one with each meal.
After just 12 weeks, the seniors taking the spirulina extract showed significant improvements in two key areas: visual learning and visual working memory.
Plus, their vocabulary skills received a nice little boost, and they had a healthy increase in their antioxidant capacity.
The supplement was also found to be completely safe, making it a promising natural option for giving our brains a little extra love.
If you’ve never heard of spirulina, you’re in good company. Most folks haven’t. However, hundreds of studies have ALREADY confirmed the potent algae’s therapeutic benefits for various health conditions.
It may be time to embrace the power of algae and give your brain some extra support. Spirulina is available as a pill or a powder you can mix in water or add to smoothies.
P.S. A safe, natural remedy to boost failing brain power could be growing in your OWN backyard.
