These Drugs WORSEN Your Heartburn?!

If you have heartburn, you know how much it hurts.

It seems like no matter what you eat, your throat and chest are set ablaze after every meal.

Your mainstream doc will tell you the only way to stop these flare-ups is to control your stomach acid with a proton pump inhibitor (or PPI) like Prevacid or Nexium.

But I’m here to you that this is a DANGEROUS way to treat heartburn

Let me show you why

Proton pump inhibitors work by blocking the body’s ability to produce stomach acid

When you have heartburn, it makes complete sense to want to tone down the burn by stopping stomach acid

But this isn’t thinking through how the body works and what role acid plays in our stomach and body.

You see, stomach acid does two important things in your body.

First, it breaks down your food.

Then it helps release digestive enzymes once your meal leaves your stomach. The amount of stomach acid in your stomach is a signal to the rest of your body to release digestive enzymes

Essentially, your ability to absorb nutrients from your food depends on how much stomach acid you produce.

When you take a drug that blocks the production of stomach acid, you are essentially shutting down your digestive system.

And this leads to dangerous nutrient deficiencies that can result in bone fractures, memory issues, and even deadly infections.

On top of that, a recent report has shown trips to the emergency room had more than tripled due to the use of these PPIs.

The real reason PPI’s don’t work is that they don’t address the underlying issue – your gut bacteria.

You see, most people have heartburn is because of bacteria produce gas in your body and it pushes the stomach acid up your throat.

If you’re currently taking a PPI, talk to your doc about getting off of it.

If you have heartburn, don’t start taking PPIs. Try these methods instead…

Dr. Scott’s Foolproof Heartburn Formula:

  • Avoid Soda: Sugary drinks are infamous for gas production. When gas moves up from your digestive tract, it often carries stomach acid with it and causes your heartburn.
  • Stay Away from Sugar: Foods that contain sugar work exactly like soda and cause gas. This includes foods that act like sugar such as bread, grains, and starchy vegetables.
  • Supplement with a Probiotic: A healthy gut bacteria can help reduce heartburn and taking a probiotic will help restore your microbiome.
  • Don’t Skip the Salt: Salt helps keep bad bacteria in check and helps to produce strong stomach acid (which reduces heartburn).
