Is This Household Device KILLING You?!
We’re a nation of ZOMBIES!
Everywhere you go, people are just stumbling along with their faces buried in their phones and tablets.
It’s like all that technology is slowly destroying their brains.
Well, it is… and that’s just the half of it.
Because it turns out that those technology screens may be shaving YEARS off of your life.
And the problem is MUCH more serious than we ever imagined.
I’ve talked to you about blue light before.
Basically, it’s the type of light that phone, computer, and TV screens give off in MASSIVE doses.
And that’s bad news for your health.
Over the years, blue light from screens has been found to disrupt our sleep-wake cycle (or circadian rhythm), trigger weight gain, damage the retinal cells in our eyes, and even mess with our brains and affect our moods.
But that’s not even the worst part…
It turns out that all of that blue light could slowly be killing you.
In a new study published in Aging and Mechanisms of Disease, scientists discovered that flies exposed to blue light had MUCH shorter lifespans.
But, wait… it gets worse.
The scientists found that the flies’ retinal cells were damaged, as expected.
So they genetically engineered flies without eyes (CREEPY)… and they STILL died faster.
Their conclusion? This blue light from screens could end up damaging brain cells, EVEN WHEN YOUR EYES ARE CLOSED.
Seriously, how frightening is that?
Listen, I know you’re not going to stop watching TV or using your smartphone and computer.
Heck, if you did, you’d miss your future issues of Living Well Daily (and that would be a DISASTER).
But there are ways for all of us to be a little smarter about our technology use.
Use blue light screens on your devices, or wear blue light blocking glasses.
And try to limit your exposure to screens at night.
These little steps could go a long way toward helping you live the long life you deserve.
