[UNCOVERED] Everything You NEED to Know About Protein!

Dear Living Well Daily Reader,

I’ve spent a good part of my life going against the stream…

The mainstream, that is.

Because time after time, they just get things flat out wrong… especially when it comes to nutrition.

They’ll tell you that meat is bad for you and that low-fat diets are the best way to go.

But perhaps the biggest thing they’ve gotten wrong is protein.

And today I’m going to tell you EVERYTHING you need to know.

Protein is an essential nutrient for maintaining and building muscle – most people know that. But you also need protein to make bones, hormones, and enzymes throughout your body.

That muscle-building is more important than you might imagine. Studies have shown that the amount of muscle mass (protein) you have determines how long you’re going to live.

This means, lose too much muscle and you shorten your stay on earth.

I’m not suggesting everyone becomes a bodybuilder of course. But most people don’t notice the slow loss of muscle that happens to them as they age.

Over time, most people lose muscle but gain fat. Your goal is to make sure you have enough muscle to keep your mobility.

There are a few ways to know you are not getting enough protein. If you’re overweight, or if you find it hard to stand for a long time or walk up a flight of stairs – then you probably need more protein.

How much protein you need depends on a lot of factors.

Seniors have more difficulty digesting and processing protein, so you need to make sure you get more, especially if you’re active.

The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics recommends consuming 0.8 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight, which translates to 0.35 grams of protein per pound.

If you weigh 165 pounds, you should get about 60 grams of protein a day. Push those numbers up a bit if you are older, active, or wanting to lose weight.

Try adding beans, nuts, and lean meats to your meals throughout the day. You’ll feel full faster and be getting stronger in no time.

P.S. Did you know that this protein could help save your vision AND your brain? Click here to find out more.
