Weird Food FORCES Your Body to Sleep
Dear Living Well Daily Reader,
“Did I turn off the stove… and lock the garage… when’s the electric bill due again?”
If this sounds like your nightly inner monologue, you already know that getting a restful eight hours of sleep is a real luxury.
And while it’s easy to spend the night tossing and turning as your mind plays all of your stresses and anxieties on repeat, it can really take toll on your health.
Fortunately, researchers from Taipei Medical University have found a simple, natural way to get the good sleep you deserve.
And it’s all thanks to a tasty little fruit.
I’m talking about kiwifruit, also known as the Chinese gooseberry in some places.
But as it turns out, it should be called the “Sandman” fruit, because it can help you fall asleep and stay asleep.
In a recent study, researchers had 24 participants already suffering from sleep problems eat two kiwis one hour before bed every night.
At the end for the four-week trial, the participants reported that they slept 13% longer and cut the time it took them to fall asleep by a whopping 35% when they ate the tasty green fruits!
Even better, this simple fruit started working weeks before some of the top prescription sleep drugs on the market.
This means eating just two kiwis before bedtime can help you get the solid eight hours of sound sleep you deserve without the wait or the risk of drugs.
Researchers believe kiwifruit helps you sleep because it’s full of antioxidants and serotonin, a powerful hormone that helps regulate anxiety and induce sleep.
You can get kiwis at your local grocer or at Asian markets.
Live well,
