What the Flu REALLY Does to Your Body

The flu is no joke.

Every year up to 50,000 people lose their live to this devastating infection… many of them seniors.

Even worse? This year’s strain seems particularly bad.

And when this nasty virus takes hold… you’ll know it.

That’s why it’s important to know EXACTLY how the flu attacks your body… and what you can do about it

Today, I’ll share both.

The flu starts with the usual suspect’s – fever, cough, muscle aches, headaches and fever.

But underneath those symptoms, the flu bug is busy WREAKING HAVOC on your body.

You see, the flu is a virus. It enters your body through inhalation and immediately takes a toll on your cells. Once inside the cell, the virus hijacks the protein manufacturing machinery of the cell to make copies of itself.

Pretty ingenious, right?

It’s this taking over of your cells causes your symptoms.

The flu virus mostly stays in the lungs, but the immune system treats your whole body.

It releases white blood cells and chemicals that cause inflammation throughout your body. These attack and kill your infected cells.

And it’s this process that can really make you MISERABLE.

You see, these inflammation chemicals send signals to your brain that cause the headaches, fever, and muscle aches that are ruining your life.

So, your best bet is to never get the flu in the first place.

Let me show just how to do that.

Dr. Scott’s Anti-Flu Program:

  • Eat Well: I like to include lots of garlic and onions in my food during flu season. Onions and garlic have long been used for their healing properties and they are a tasty addition to any meal (especially soups). There are many herbs and vitamins that are can help your immune system; make sure you get enough of them as well.
  • Vitamin D: Starting in November, I start taking 3,000-5,000 IUs of Vitamin D every day. Even though I still get outside in winter, my body needs more Vitamin D.
  • Berberine, Turmeric, and Olive Leaf: These herbs help to give your immune system the boost it needs to help kick the flu out the door.
  • Probiotic/Polyphenols: There is a ton of research on probiotics and immunity. I take my probiotic in a super-food blend so I get both gut health and the added antioxidant power of plant foods.

Health and Happiness,
