[Warning] This $50 Drug Could BANKRUPT You

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again.

The drug companies are the biggest pack of money-grubbing weasels the world has ever seen.

They don’t care if you lose your house… or your life’s savings… as long as they can make another billion and keep their shareholders happy.

Now, Big Pharma is robbing Americans blind… literally… with a glaucoma drug whose price is shooting through the roof.

And we all need to act NOW to do something about it.

Daranide was originally approved in 1958 to treat glaucoma.

It worked okay, but watch the price over the years:

In 1990, it was $50

In 2000, it was $13,650

Today it costs $15,000 for a supply (for an annual price of around $109,500 to $219,000, depending on how much someone takes).

Think about this: no new development costs, no new clinical trails… just a steady increase in price.

Why?

The reason is two-fold. One, the drug was sold from one manufacturer to another (and each increased the price).

Two, the last company that bought the rights to Daranide realized something: it was the only drug available for periodic paralysis (PP).

PP is a disorder that causes occasional episodes of muscle weakness and sometimes a lower than normal level of potassium in the blood.

There is no competition for this drug, so drug companies can charge whatever they like.

I’m not a big fan of government regulations, but this leaves people who need Daranide in a place where they simply cannot afford it.

Drug companies are not interested in curing you, because that would mean you would stop taking the drugs. Their whole model is based on keeping you just well enough, so you can buy drugs for as long as possible.

If drug companies were in the business of actually healing people, drug prices would drop.

There are dozens of members of Congress who promised to do something about drug price-gouging.

And NOTHING has happened.

It’s time to contact your representatives and remind them that they’re supposed to look out for you… not the drug companies that are getting filthy rich off our misery.
