7 Signs You SHOULD Take Multivitamins
Lately, I’ve had a few folks tell me they don’t take multivitamins because they don’t see any reason to.
Personally, I think multivitamins are a good idea for almost EVERYONE.
The fact is, it isn’t uncommon for ALL of us to miss out on certain vital nutrients from time to time, and multivitamins can cover those nutritional shortfalls.
The trouble is, most of us don’t realize when we’re falling short.
But your body has ways of telling you you’re NOT getting enough nutrients. You just need to know what to look for…
Following are seven red flags that could indicate your body needs MORE of certain critical nutrients you’ll find included in MOST multivitamins…
- Fatigue: If you constantly feel tired and lack energy even after getting enough rest, it could mean you aren’t getting enough iron, B vitamins, or vitamin D.
- Weakened immune system: If you get sick often, or cuts and other injuries take a long time to heal, your immune system may not be working correctly. This could be because you’re not getting enough vitamins A, C, D, E, zinc, or selenium… ALL of which are common ingredients in multivitamins.
- Hair or nail problems: Hair and nails that break easily could indicate you’re running low on biotin, vitamins C or E, or the minerals zinc or iron.
- Skin issues: A dull complexion, flaky skin, acne, or wounds that heal slowly can all be signs of not getting enough omega-3 fatty acids or vitamins A, C, and E.
- Muscle cramps or weakness: If you have frequent muscle cramps or muscle weakness or soreness, it can mean you’re running low on calcium, B vitamins, or the minerals sodium, potassium, or magnesium (once again, ALL commonly included in multivitamins).
- Thinking or memory problems: Not getting enough omega-3 fatty acids, B vitamins, vitamin D, or antioxidants can lead to brain fog, memory loss, or trouble focusing. And research shows multivitamins may even IMPROVE cognition in seniors.
- Digestive problems: If you have frequent digestive complaints such as constipation, diarrhea, bloating, or absorption issues, multivitamins, along with probiotics and more fiber in your diet, could help.
If any of these symptoms sounds familiar, don’t ignore them. Discuss them with your doctor, and consider taking multivitamins.
