Mailbag! MAJOR Kidney Disease Breakthrough

Dear Living Well Daily Reader,

You’ve got questions…

We’ve got answers!

Kidney disease is no joke.

And certain conditions, like heart troubles and calcium deposits in your blood vessels, lower your chances of surviving it.

Fortunately, Lebanese researchers have found that a powerful vitamin can help keep your kidneys healthy for years to come.

Let’s dive in…

Hey Natalie,

My neighbor is on dialysis because of her kidney problems. She recently told me she’s been taking vitamin K2 (at her doctor’s suggestion) to help with her kidneys and her heart. She said she feels better since she started taking it, but wasn’t sure how vitamin K2 helps with kidney issues. Do you know?

Thanks,

Charlotte S.

Thanks for such an interesting question, Charlotte.

Researchers have known for some time that kidney problems and dialysis treatments can make your vitamin K2 levels take a nosedive.

Unfortunately, a K2 deficiency can increase your blood levels of a dangerous protein called dp-ucMGP, which can up your risk of kidney damage, calcium deposits in your blood vessels, and heart disease.

Because the kidneys and heart are so closely linked, calcium build up in the blood vessels can really put your life in danger if you have kidney disease.

But you can fight the dangerous effects of dp-ucMGP by simply supplementing with vitamin K2.

In fact, a groundbreaking new study from Saint Joseph University in Beirut shows that dialysis patients who take just 360 mcg of vitamin K2 daily can reduce their dp-ucMGP levels by a whopping 61 percent!

And it started working in just four weeks.

This means supplementing with vitamin K2 can lead to healthier kidneys and lower risk of heart problems and even death in about a month’s time.

It’s no wonder that your neighbor’s doctor recommended this powerhouse vitamin to boost her kidney and heart health!

But vitamin K2’s powers won’t just help your kidneys and heart. K2 has also been linked to better brain and bone health, as well as fighting some cancers.

In this study, the participants took the menaquinone-7 (MK-7) form of vitamin K2. It’s important to take M-7 because it’s the form best absorbed by your body.

Additionally, you should always take vitamin K2 with vitamin D3. This special formulation can help direct calcium away from your kidneys, heart and blood vessels and into your bones.
