“Summertime Fruit” an Ally Against Inflammation!

Dear Reader,

Chances are – if you’re a loyal reader of Living Well Daily — you know that inflammation is one of your BIGGEST enemies when it comes to your health.

Inflammation can increase heart disease, cancer, arthritis, obesity, Alzheimer’s disease, asthma… and that’s just the beginning.

Which is why the one key to living a LONG and healthy life is to control inflammation as much as you can.

And now research has shown that one sweet “summertime fruit” might just be your best ally in this fight…

It’s not some far off tropical fruit only found in the corners of the Mediterranean, or hiding deep in the forests of the Amazon…

recent study, published in the FASEB Journalresearchers looked at many phytocompounds found in berries

The scientists identified a polyphenolic compound called “pterostilbene” (or PSB) with strong immune propertiesThe research team thought that PSB could have the potential to help many chronic inflammatory diseases

So they tested the effects of PSB part of the immune system called T cell proliferation.

They discovered that PSB treatment PREVENTS T cells from changing into other cells (Called Th1 and Th17 cells) – these are cells that increase inflammation.

At the same time, PSB increased another cell (called Regulatory T cells) which calms down inflammation!

They also revealed that PSB treatment puts the brakes on inflammatory cytokine production (these are molecules that increase inflammation).

So, if you are looking to calm down inflammation in your body, be sure to help yourself to a daily handful of berries

But berries don’t have to be the only defense in your repertoire. If you are looking to get your anti-inflammation program really going, consider the following:

Dr. Scott’s End-Inflammation program:

  • There are many powerful natural anti-inflammatories that you should take all the time. These include fish oil, curcumin, Boswellia, and others.
  • Exercise is a great way to keep inflammation in check. Strangely, exercise increases inflammation for about an hour afterward, but then it plummets to very low levels – resulting in an overall decrease in inflammation.
  • Avoid processed foods and too much sugar. Both sugar and vegetable oils tend to increase inflammation in the body.
  • Eat your veggies. Vegetables have a mysterious but incredible way of calming inflammation.
  • Take a probiotic. Your immune system (which controls inflammation) is closely tied to the health of your digestive tract. Make sure you are getting enough healthy bacteria by taking a good probiotic.

P.S. There’s one simple supplement you need if you’re looking to get your inflammation under control. And it has to do with a certain enzyme that your body may be lacking. You can read all the details here.
