Extend Your Life in Just 11 Minutes a Day!

Dear Living Well Daily Reader,

What would you do if you had extra time?

Maybe you’d spend more time with your family… travel (once the pandemic is finally over, of course)… learn another language or pick up photography.

More time is a blessing, no matter what you choose to do with it.

And now, it’s completely possible to ADD years to your life!

Researchers have discovered an astounding trick that can extend your life… and it just takes 11 minutes a day!

The Norwegian School of Sports Medicine recently published a meta-analysis of studies in The British Journal of Sports Medicine that found it takes just minutes a day to add precious time to your life.

That’s right—in less than half an episode of your favorite TV show, you could be fending off disease and extending your life!

The data followed more than 44,000 middle-aged and older individuals over a four to fourteen-year period.

Participants used monitors to track their activity. This ranged from heart-pumping exercise to simply walking around the house.

Using a monitor is MUCH better than a self-reported study because people forget to record when they’ve moved or they even lie on the report. This way the researchers had hard data recorded by a device.

The researchers were interested in what’s called “moderate to vigorous” physical activity and how that specific type of activity impacted the participants’ health and longevity.

After measuring the activity against the mortality rate, they found that those who exercised 35 minutes a day were far less likely to die by the end of the study.

But they weren’t the only ones who saw an effect… those who exercised just 11 minutes a day saw results as well!

And both groups saw improvements in their heart and joint health as well.

The study specified that the activity must be moderate to vigorous. What you’ll be happy to learn is that almost no one intentionally went out the door for a hill run or to the gym to pump iron.

Most of the people who were getting 11 minutes of exercise were just vacuuming, mopping, mowing the lawn, or going on a brisk walk.

The key to knowing if you are exercising hard enough is to pay attention to your breath: you should be breathing a bit faster and maybe breaking out in a light sweat.

Do that for 11 minutes a day, and you will change your life.

P.S. Here’s another reason why moderate—not intense and frequent—exercise is better for your health and longevity. Read more right here.
