These 5 Meds SKYROCKET Your Blood Pressure!

Dear Living Well Daily Reader,

I don’t have to tell you how important healthy blood pressure is.

Uncontrolled blood pressure puts you on the fast-track to stroke, heart attack, kidney failure, and many other complications you don’t want.

You probably do everything right: you eat well, exercise, take the right supplements.

But something could be sabotaging all of your good efforts.

A new study has uncovered five medications that can SKYROCKET your blood pressure.

And millions of Americans are taking them right now.

*****

A recent study found that one in five adults with high blood pressure take medications that make it worse.

When researchers tracked 27,000 patients with high blood pressure, they found that these five meds were to blame:

  • antidepressants,
  • non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) like ibuprofen,
  • oral steroids that treat conditions like gout or rheumatoid arthritis,
  • antipsychotics,
  • decongestants.

Interestingly, women were more likely (24 percent) than men (14 percent) to use a blood pressure-raising medication.

Here’s the kicker… the study also found that by simply eliminating these drugs, over 2.2 million patients could control their high blood pressure without medication.

Which means you could be on your blood pressure medicine for no reason.

So what can you do?

Your first stop is your pharmacist, because not only are they more accessible, they also know how to spot drug side effects and interactions.

If they identify a drug that may be a problem, then head to your doc and ask him to put you on something else.

It’s also a good rule of thumb to take your medications with you to all of your doctor appointments, especially if you see multiple doctors.

Don’t worry—there are good alternatives to almost every drug out there, especially for long-term and chronic conditions. You don’t have to settle for dangerous drug interactions.

And don’t forget that many diseases can be managed with a combination of eating a low-carb diet and staying active when you can.
