“Citrus Superstar” PROTECTS Your Heart

Dear Living Well Daily Reader,

When it comes to natural health, there are new advancements every day.

If you’re a frequent reader of mine, you’re probably well-versed on natural compounds…

You may even supplement with a few already!

But there’s an entire group of compounds that few know about – phytonutrients.

Phytonutrients include carotenoids such as lutein, flavonoids, coumarins, plant sterols, and so much more… and their health benefits are limitless.

Flavonoids in particular have stunning potential to heal disease, including dementia, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol.

And now, one flavonoid in particular could protect your heart.

Researchers have discovered that this citrus superstar could help protect your heart.

Flavonoids are nutrients that provide color, antioxidants, and anti-inflammatory protection to the plants we eat.

And there’s one special flavonoid you need to know: hesperidin.

Hesperidin is one of the most powerful flavonoids on the planet. It’s most commonly found in citrus fruits like oranges, grapefruit, lemon, and tangerine.

The first way it benefits your heart is its role in blood vessel health. People have used hesperidin for hemorrhoids, varicose veins, and circulation.

And now, new studies have looked into even more heart health benefits. A small study has shown it to has the potential to reduce clogged arteries, help control blood pressure, and improve blood vessel function.

But the benefits don’t stop there.

Other studies have focused on hesperidin’s ability to relieve allergies by reducing mast cell degranulation, which is how histamine is released in the body. If you make it harder for histamine to be released, then conditions such as asthma, allergy, hay fever, sinusitis all get better.

Women have also found hesperidin helpful for hot flashes, menopausal changes, and PMS.

There are also a few studies showing hesperidin can help maintain healthy cognitive function in older adults.

The easiest way to get more hesperidin is to eat more citrus fruits. Peppermint is another wonderful source.

If you’re not in to citrus, then consider supplementing to get the most benefits.

P.S. The benefits of flavonoids don’t stop here. Did you know they could help you burn fat as well? Learn how right here.
