“Magic Potion” REDUCES Heart Disease Risk!

Dear Living Well Daily Reader,

If you’ve got grandkids, you probably at some point watched one of the Harry Potter movies.

In this magical world of wizards, they have a spell or potion for just about anything you can think of!

If only it were that easy when it comes to taking care of your heart.

Now, maybe it can be.

Researchers have discovered that this “magic potioncould lower your heart disease risk 26 percent…

And it takes just one cup a day!

What’s the magic potion?

Leafy green vegetables.

Most people don’t get enough fruit and veggies in their diet, whether by choice or by accident.

And that’s a problem when it comes to your heart.

Green leafy vegetables (as well as beetroot) contain a molecule called nitrate that helps lower blood pressure… which can save your heart.

A new study from the European Journal of Epidemiology found that eating just one cup of raw leafy greens each day can result in a 26 percent lower chance of heart disease later in life.

The study team examined records from over 50,000 people in Denmark and tracked each participant’s health and dieting habits for 23 years.

They found that eating nitrate-rich vegetables lowered systolic blood pressure (the top number) by 2.5 points (mm Hg).

At first, that doesn’t sound like much of a decrease.  But here’s what those results actually translate into…

The researchers discovered participants eating the most leafy greens had between a 12 and 26 percent lower chance of cardiovascular disease later in life.

These healthy, nitrate-strong foods included spinach, broccoli, bok choy, lettuce, cabbage, and kale.

If sitting down and chewing away on a bowl of greens just isn’t your thing, there are other ways to get those nitrates.

Try mixing them into a smoothie – you won’t even notice any change in taste. You can also blend greens and mix them into sauces and soups, as well as meatloaf, hamburgers, and many other meals.

You’ll be getting your daily greens and protecting your heart before you know it.

P.S. What you eat isn’t the only factor when it comes to keeping your heart healthy… how your body processes it is vital as well. Revamp your heart AND your gut with an easy 4-step program right here.
