[ALERT] Persistent Aspirin Myth Can KILL

Dear Living Well Daily Reader,

Honestly, I thought we’d already put this issue to bed. After all, the evidence is in. We KNOW that taking a daily aspirin is a bad idea.

But the headlines just keep coming anyway

Aspirin Reduces Breast Cancer by 20 percent!

Aspirin Cuts Heart Attack Risk!

With incredible claims like those who wouldn’t be interested in buying a bottle and getting started?

But before you jump on the aspirin-a-day bandwagon, you should understand what you’re REALLY getting yourself into. Because despite those glowing headlines, that little unassuming-looking pill is far from safe.

The harsh reality is that 40,000 Americans DIE every year from taking aspirin.

Yes, you read that right. That makes aspirin one of the top killers in the United States, on par with automobile accident deaths.

In fact, there are at least four different ways taking too much aspirin could harm… and even KILL… you.

Most medications have an appropriate time and place to be used. And aspirin is no different.

But popping unnecessary pain pills to potentially reduce risks you may or may not have is downright dangerous. Here’s why.

Aspirin can…

  • Increase the threat of internal bleeding: Aspirin and other NSAIDS thin the lining of the stomach. This increases your risk of developing ulcers, which can lead to stomach bleeding. Internal bleeding is what sends most older people to the emergency room. The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) now says the risk of internal bleeding from daily aspirin far outweighs any potential benefits of taking the drug for seniors.
  • Raise your risk of heart failure: If this confuses you, you’re not alone. For years mainstream doctors have been touting using aspirin to prevent heart attacks. We’re STILL not sure it can do that. But what we ARE sure of, though, is that daily aspirin increases the risk of heart failure.
  • Trigger liver damage: Aspirin is a drug, and like most medications, it needs to be processed by your liver before it can leave your body. Taking aspirin every day can lead to liver damage. People with high cholesterol, cardiovascular disease, pre-existing liver disease, or a history of prior surgeries are the most vulnerable.
  • Leads to early cancer death: If you’ve heard that aspirin can lower the risk of cancers, this threat can be confusing. But recent research found that in some cases taking daily aspirin can promote cancer progression. Studies have found that aspirin is associated with a 19 percent higher risk of being diagnosed with cancers that spread and a 22 percent higher chance of finding an advanced cancer once diagnosed.

Other studies have debunked the myth that aspirin can lower the risk of dementia in seniors. Plus, there’s no solid evidence taking the drug will lead to healthy aging.

Just to be clear, aspirin is a wonder drug. It can be incredibly helpful when you take it for a short period for a specific need.

But drugs like these were never intended to be taken daily like a vitamin supplement. Don’t fall for the headlines.

P.S. Want to slash your heart risk without popping dangerous aspirin pills? This simple drug-free trick can SHRINK your heart attack and stroke risk by 35 percent.
