“Magic Bean” Method Slashes Kidney Risk By 23%

Dear Living Well Daily Reader,

I can honestly say that no one has ever asked me how they can take better care of their kidneys. Unless they were already fighting kidney failure, of course.

Instead, people tend to focus on their heart, brain, stomach, lungs, or even the liver. But their poor kidneys never get the attention they deserve.

This is a problem because your kidneys perform MANY vital functions that keep you healthy and alive.

For example, your hardworking kidneys help filter waste and maintain a good acid/base balance in your body. Plus, they help with blood pressure regulation.

Taking care of your kidneys is critical for continued good health. And this easy and delicious “Magic Bean” method is a great way to support your kidneys and keep them in tip-top shape.

I’m talking about drinking coffee.

Now, many so-called health experts will warn you to stay away from coffee. Don’t listen to them.

See, coffee isn’t just delicious. Those “magic beans” are full of biologically active compounds, vitamins, and minerals your body needs.

In fact, there’s a growing stack of research confirming java’s many health BENEFITS. Coffee reduces the risk of type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and liver disease.

Scientists even say the delicious brew can help you maintain your brain health!

Now a new study published in the journal Kidney International Reports found that your daily cup of coffee can also help reduce the risk of acute kidney injury (AKI) by 15 percent. Make that two or three mugs a day, and that number can soar up to 23 percent.

Researchers aren’t exactly sure how coffee is able to protect the kidneys. But they suspect caffeine and those biologically active compounds I mentioned earlier (including bioflavonoids, diterpenes, chlorogenic acids, and melanoidins) are responsible.

Acute kidney injury usually happens as a result of another serious disease. (You may not have heard of it before, but there are more than 200,000 cases every year in America.)

AKI usually develops over a few hours to a day, and patients deteriorate rapidly. And the condition raises the risk that you’ll never walk out of the hospital.

So when you wake up in the morning and pour yourself that first delicious cup of coffee, know that you’re shielding your kidneys and protecting your health in a bunch of ways.

That’s right, something can be both good for you AND enjoyable.

P.S. The good news about coffee keeps rolling in. A recent study found a compound in java juice can reduce “bad” LDL cholesterol. Find out exactly how many cups you need to drink to bring on the benefits.
