Picking Out the BEST Protein Powder
Many people like to have a protein drink or smoothie for breakfast.
And I approve, as long as it’s the RIGHT kind.
A high-protein drink is a great way to start the day because it helps you stay full far longer than a sugary bowl of cereal or a donut.
Plus, that protein does all sorts of good things for your health, including helping you maintain your muscle mass.
But when you go to pick one out, it instantly becomes confusing. There are FAR many to choose from. Which one is the best?
The two BEST protein powders are…
- whey
- egg
These drink mixes have a high “biological value” because they contain all the essential amino acids and are easily absorbed into your system.
Let’s take a quick look at the other options….
The next best are casein and collagen. These are animal derived and can be helpful for specific needs. Casein is often used to recover after exercise. Collagen protein is good for joints, skin, and even weight loss.
Plant-based protein powders are widely available these days. But in my experience, they’re all lacking or have other problems.
Soy protein is the vegetable protein with the highest biological value. But in my experience, many people are allergic to soy. And nearly all soy is genetically modified.
Hemp, pea, and other vegetable proteins have little protein value and are often expensive.
In the end, whey protein is the BEST tasting protein and BEST for your body.
