Gambling Trick Lets You Live LONGER and Better

I can’t say that I’m a gambler. But I have been known to sit down at a blackjack table every once in a while.

I choose blackjack because I know the best chance of winning anything in a casino is at the blackjack table.

It’s all about the odds.

And speaking of odds, you can stack the deck in your favor when it comes to your longevity. Because making the right choices for your health are a lot like picking the right games to play at the casino.

In fact, new research reveals there is one choice we can make that delivers the BEST odds of avoiding an untimely death. And it’s bound to surprise you.

According to a new study, BRIEF spurts of vigorous exercise are the key to living LONGER and BETTER.

And we’re not talking about a small effect here.

In fact, just five minutes of intense exercise could reduce your risk of dying from any disease by as much as 40 percent!

Those are odds ANYONE should love.

The researchers recruited 25,000 volunteers who claimed to never exercise and had them wear fitness trackers. The “non-exercisers” who engaged in 1-2 minutes of intense physical activity three or four times each day saw significant health benefits.

The short-burst exercises were linked to a…

  • 40 percent decrease in the risk of dying from cancer
  • 50 percent drop in the risk of dying from heart disease
  • 40(+) percent reduction in the risk of dying from any cause (all-cause mortality)

So, what counts as a burst of exercise? How about taking bags of groceries up a flight of stairs? That counts! What about housework, like vacuuming? That counts too!

What you’re looking for is what the experts call incidental exercise points in your day. These are chances to increase your heart rate without putting on a tracksuit, driving to the gym, or taking any extra time out of your day.

Here are some other ideas:

  • Taking stairs instead of an elevator
  • Walking to do your chores (shopping, post office…)
  • Working in the garden
  • Washing your car by hand
  • Playing with kids or animals
  • Speeding up between blocks when you’re walking
  • Any sport such as golf, tennis, and pickleball.

Researchers find that about 60 percent of adults never exercise. And that’s okay as long as you find OTHER opportunities to get your heart pumping a few times a day.

It can turn the odds of a LONG and HEALTHY life in your favor.

P.S. If you’re like most folks I treat, you’ll do almost ANYTHING to keep your memory in tip-top condition. It turns out that staying moving throughout the day with incidental exercise supports better brain health too. CLICK HERE for the details.
