Battling Tummy Troubles? Check Food Labels for THIS

It’s NOT your imagination. Digestive troubles ARE on the rise. Gastroenterologists confirm it.

Stress, a fast-paced lifestyle, eating at odd hours, and a poor diet all likely play a part in the spike.

But there’s ANOTHER sneaky trigger that countless folks are exposed to daily.

A common cooking oil could be WRECKING your gut!

If you have ANY kind of digestive complaint, you need to keep reading.

As bizarre as it sounds, vegetable oil could be the culprit behind your tummy troubles.

If you’re a regular reader, you likely already know how I feel about them. I’ve long warned folks to steer clear of inflammatory vegetable oils such as corn, soy, safflower, canola, peanut, and sunflower.

Regularly eating these oils is associated with various conditions, including diabetes, obesity, anxiety, depression, and Alzheimer’s.

But now, a group of researchers has zeroed in on soybean oil and a link to inflammatory bowel disease (ulcerative colitis) in mice.

The study, published in the journal Gut Microbes, found that mice fed soybean oil for 24 weeks developed inflammatory bowel disease.

And when researchers dug into the cause, they were shocked to discover that soybean oil had triggered a dramatic shift in the mice’s microbiome.

The microbiome, of course, is the collection of microorganisms (mostly bacteria) that live in your gut. In recent years, researchers have found a healthy microbiome is VITAL for overall good health.

The soybean oil was specifically linked to a disturbing rise in a harmful bacterium called Escherichia coli (E. coli).

That’s a problem because soybean is the most widely used oil in the USA.

You may think you don’t eat any of this oil because you don’t buy it to cook with. BUT soybean oil is found in countless processed foods, from soups to salad dressings.

In fact, if you take a moment to look at the labels on the items in your pantry, you’ll likely spot soybean on at least a few.

But soybean oil is just the TIP of the iceberg.

The researchers say a compound in the oil called linoleic acid feeds the harmful E. coli bacteria. And most vegetable oils are high in this omega-6 fatty acid (not to be confused with alpha-linolenic acid, an omega-3).

Olive oil and avocado oil contain far less linoleic acid, which is why they’re the only liquid oils I suggest using. But butter and tallow are also fine.

If you’re battling digestive issues and don’t know the cause, cutting processed foods from your diet could FINALLY give you relief.
