Natural Fix Dials DOWN Pollution Damage

Let’s face it. We live in an increasingly toxic world.

The only way to AVOID the damage caused by exposure to harmful environmental pollutants is to try to avoid THEM.

Things like filtering your water, using natural cleaners, and staying inside on high-pollution days can help

But they only do so much. It’s impossible to avoid the toxins altogether, and the resulting damage is also unavoidable.

At least, that USED to be the case…

It appears a simple solution to DIAL DOWN those damaging effects was staring us in the face all along.

New research suggests that common selenium could shield against sneaky toxins lurking in your water glass.

An animal study revealed that this ordinary mineral may combat the harmful effects of heavy metals and drug residues like those that contaminate many drinking water supplies.

The fact is we’re ALL exposed to some harmful chemicals that are bad for our health.

It happens through the food we eat, the water we drink, and even the air we breathe. It’s the unwelcome reality of living in our modern world.

Even worse, those heavy metals, chemicals, and drug residues can combine and interact, making an even GREATER toxic mix.

That’s where selenium comes in.

In lab tests on mice, researchers found that when the critters were given selenium supplements, it significantly REDUCED the damage caused by high levels of cadmium (a heavy metal) and diclofenac (a drug) in their drinking water.

In other words, it appears that selenium may safeguard cells and tissues from the hidden harms of pollutants.

Now, keep in mind this was a small animal study. So, naturally, more research is needed to confirm the findings.

But it’s ALSO fantastic news because selenium is affordable and readily available.

Our bodies already require selenium. This vital antioxidant protects cells from damage, supports immune function, and boosts thyroid health.

Selenium also plays a critical role in brain function and heart health. And there’s growing evidence that the mineral can reduce the risk of chronic diseases, like cancer and heart disease.

Reducing your exposure to pollutants will ALWAYS be your best first line of defense. But if any of those sneaky toxins do slip through (and they WILL), it appears that selenium has your back.

Like most things in life, with selenium, moderation is key. You don’t want to overdo it. So, unless your doctor recommends otherwise, it’s best to boost your levels with diet.

An occasional high-selenium Brazil nut and plenty of cold-water fish, organic free-range meats and eggs, legumes, grains, and seeds should keep your levels topped up nicely.

Supplements are available as well. I typically recommend 100 and 200 mcg of selenium daily for folks who are selenium deficient.

P.S. How filthy is YOUR tap water? (You won’t believe it!)
