For Better Blood Sugar “Go for the Gold”

If you’re like many folks, you give little thought to your blood sugar.

Unless your doctor insists you NEED to keep an eye on it, or you’ve been diagnosed with diabetes—you may not think about it EVER.

But the fact is, keeping your blood sugar balanced is CRUCIAL for long-term health.

If you don’t, the price can be stiff…

When blood sugar fluctuates too high for too long, it leads to insulin resistance, weight gain, and an increased risk for type 2 diabetes and heart disease.

But, as usual, nature has provided us with a simple solution. You just have to “go for the gold.”

And strangely enough, you might already have it in your home RIGHT NOW.

It turns out a spice I recommended just last week for tackling indigestion could ALSO be your ticket to keeping your blood sugar in check.

And that, of course, is the golden yellow spice turmeric.

A growing stack of research found that curcumin, the active compound in turmeric, can be a powerful tool for regulating blood sugar.

Now, a new meta-study published in the journal Diabetes and Metabolic Syndrome combined the data of 59 studies to see precisely what the spice can do.

They found that supplementing with turmeric was able to:

  • decrease blood sugar levels
  • improve hemoglobin A1c
  • lower fasting insulin levels
  • reduce insulin resistance

Curcumin encourages the pancreas to produce more insulin while enhancing how well the body processes this blood-sugar-regulating hormone.

And the potent spice can also lower insulin resistance by reducing inflammation and oxidative stress.

You see, chronic inflammation affects how the body metabolizes glucose.

So, curcumin’s anti-inflammatory properties may improve the cell-signaling pathways related to insulin function while also protecting pancreatic beta cells.

Sprinkling just half a teaspoon of turmeric into a dish significantly lowers post-meal blood sugar spikes. In fact, research shows the effects are on par with some diabetes medications!

Plus, regular dosages of curcumin appear to promote healthy blood sugar over the long term.

There are many ways to use turmeric. Its earthy, peppery flavor is delicious in curries, roasted vegetables, and golden milk (you’ll find recipes online for this soothing drink).

And each dish provides an opportunity to support balanced blood sugar.

Turmeric supplements are also available.

P.S. Hit the blood sugar “Sweet Spot” (and STAY!)
