Cut Off This “Tumor Fertilizer” to SLASH Your Cancer Risk
Colorectal cancer is a killer.
It is the third most common cancer in the United States and the third leading cause of cancer deaths.
And if you’re a senior, you may already be in this murderer’s crosshairs. After all, nearly 70 percent of cases are diagnosed in those over 65, and 40 percent are found in folks 75 and older.
But it’s not all bad news. You can drastically reduce your risk for colorectal cancer by making a few lifestyle changes.
And now, new research reveals one more step you can take to slash your risk for this devasting disease…
New research reveals how chronic stress could essentially act like a fertilizer for this already dangerous disease.
The groundbreaking animal study uncovered a concerning link between chronic stress and colorectal cancer progression. Using lab mice, scientists found that prolonged stress dramatically speeds up the cancer’s spread.
Scientists have already spotted a link between cancer patients who are excessively worried about their diagnosis and poorer outcomes. So, they wanted to figure out precisely how stress affects cancer.
The study found that chronic stress disrupts the delicate balance of good bacteria in your gut. The stress was especially damaging to a beneficial type of bacteria called Lactobacillus.
However, tumor formation plunged when the researchers restored these good bacteria in the stressed mice. This suggests that maintaining a healthy gut environment could apply the brakes to cancer progression.
Colorectal cancer is a leading cancer killer. And with an aging population and our unhealthy eating habits, the threat is expected to grow in the coming years.
But we CAN turn this ship around, starting with tried-and-true lifestyle changes, including eating a healthy whole-food diet (rich in fruits, veggies, and probiotic-rich foods), regularly exercising, and avoiding obesity.
And now we can add stress reduction to the list.
When you’re diagnosed with a serious disease like colorectal cancer, it’s perfectly natural to feel worried or scared. But actively working to manage your stress levels can lead to a far better outcome.
Besides exercise and eating right, practices like meditation and deep breathing can help control your stress. And remember to top up your “vitamin O” by spending a few times every day outside in nature.
And consider taking a probiotic supplement that contains a variety of good bugs, including Lactobacillus.
P.S. Five cortisol calmers SLASH stress NATURALLY.
