[Alert] Popular Pain Killer CAUSING Hip Fractures?!

If there’s one thing you want to avoid as you get older, it’s a hip fracture.

Because this injury isn’t just painful… it can also be DEADLY.

In fact, one-third of seniors who break a hip die within 12 months.

And if you’re taking a certain popular pain killer, you could be on the fast track to having one of these risky fractures.

Here’s how to stay safe.

I’m talking about Tramadol.

This prescription opioid is often prescribed to help manage moderate to severe pain.

Doctors choose Tramadol over other pain relievers – like non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or NSAIDS – because it has less heart and stomach side effects.

But that doesn’t mean Tramadol is safe.

It’s addictive… can make you dizzy…  and even causes drowsiness.

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to this painkiller…

A new study, published in the journal Bone and Mineral Research, analyzed the Tramadol use and hip fracture outcomes of 146,956 seniors over 17 years.

At the end, they found that folks taking Tramadol were 28 percent more likely to have a broken bone.

In fact, older patients treated with Tramadol showed significant increases in the risk of hip fracture compared to those using codeine or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.

Researchers believe that Tramadol is causing hip fractures because it alters your balance and perception, which can lead to bone-breaking falls.

If you’re taking Tramadol or any other opioid, it’s time to talk to your doctor about getting off of it.

There are safer ways to relieve your pain. These include physical therapy, acupuncture and natural anti-inflammatories like curcumin and Boswellia.
