All-Natural SWEET Cough Remedy
Your local pharmacy is chock-full of ways to stop cough.
There is only one problem with those cough suppressants: they don’t work.
What’s worse, they are also full of nasty side effects (like blurred vision, problems with urination, dizziness, nervousness…)
Wouldn’t it be nice if there was an effective AND natural way to make a cough disappear?
Luckily, there’s an all-natural sweet remedy that does just that.
While people nowadays see honey only as a sweetener, in the old days people actually used honey as a medicine.
And now new research shows that the old-school method wasn’t far off the mark.
A new study, published in the journal BMJ Evidence Based Medicine, found that honey is GREAT for easing coughs.
The scientists combined many different studies (called a meta-analysis) and discovered that honey is an effective treatment for cough and as well other symptoms of upper respiratory tract infections.
In fact, the authors concluded that honey is SUPERIOR to over-the-counter products for reducing cough and other infectious symptoms!
Though the research team found that honey doesn’t seem to work for bronchitis – it’s highly effective for an acute cough, colds or flu-like illness.
This is incredibly important in an era of antibiotic resistance because people can avoid a trip to the doctor (and a round of antibiotics!) by handling the condition at home. (There’s another cough-banishing trick to try at home. Go here to read about this natural cough suppressant that you can do without even leaving your house.)
You also avoid all the side-effects of the drug your mainstream doc might prescribe.
Honey, of course, is widely available, natural, and safe for almost everyone (you shouldn’t give it to babies less than a year old because a bacterium called Clostridium — anyone older than one has the digestive capacity to inactivate the bacteria).
So, the next time you have a cough, try a spoonful of honey to help calm it down.
P.S. Honey isn’t the only natural cough remedy. If you really want to put your cough to bed, you’ll want to read about the “juicy way” to end your cough for good. Go here to learn all the details.
