Coffee Mug Hack Could Head Off Cancer
If you’re a coffee lover, it doesn’t get much better than that first cup of morning coffee.
But before you reach for your favorite mug, I have some news that might make that java taste EVEN better.
A new study finds your coffee habit could protect you from one of the world’s most common cancers…
New research published in the journal Cancer reveals that our favorite morning brew could ward off head and neck cancer (HNC).
That’s a huge deal because the World Health Organization (WHO) ranks HNCs as the seventh most common cancers worldwide.
Now, of course, we’ve known for years that coffee packs a powerful antioxidant punch. But previous studies on its relationship with HNCs have been about as consistent as a barista in training—they’re all over the place!
This time, though, the evidence is clear. Coffee reduces HNC risk.
Of course, this doesn’t mean you should start mainlining espresso.
While this is fantastic news for coffee lovers like me, don’t be fooled into thinking it’s a magic bullet. A balanced diet, regular exercise, and other healthy lifestyle choices are all crucial to prevent chronic diseases—including cancer.
And coffee definitely doesn’t cancel out other HNC risk factors, including:
- Smoking (still bad for you)
- Heavy alcohol consumption (also not great)
- Poor diet (you know the drill)
But if you already enjoy coffee, it’s nice to know you’re doing something good for your health with every antioxidant-filled sip.
Remember, we’re NOT talking about those sugary, syrup-filled “coffee” drinks here. To get these benefits without doing more harm than good, opt for caffeinated black coffee (with a splash of cream if you like) instead.
P.S. Unexpected perks of your coffee habit revealed!
