Common Habit Sends You to An EARLY Grave

Sitting is DEADLY.

Yes, I know that sounds extreme. But it’s also true.

Sitting for long periods forces your body into a position that isn’t natural. Do it too long, and it harms your health.

Too much sitting reduces circulation, weakens bones, tightens muscles, triggers blood sugar issues, and, ultimately, SHORTENS your life.

And you… I… and EVERYONE we know does it TOO much.

Here’s how to reverse the harm…

The problem is simple. We sit too much.

And the less time you spend with your seat IN a seat, the healthier you’ll be.

But breaking this bad habit can be a bit more complicated…

Following are five easy hacks to get you started.

Regularly practicing them can counteract some of the deadly damage caused by sitting…

  1. It’s vital to take regular movement breaks to undo some of the effects of sitting too much. Get up at least every 30 minutes. Even just walking around the room for a couple of minutes gets your blood flowing, counteracting the harm caused by prolonged sitting.
  2. Incorporate light exercise throughout your day. Go for a quick 10-minute walk during lunch. Or, between tasks or during commercial breaks, stretch, march in place, or lift small hand weights.
  3. Practice good posture while sitting. Sit straight, keep your shoulders back, and avoid slouching to take pressure off your back and hips. Use a lumbar support pillow if needed.
  4. Make mobility exercises a regular habit. Simple stretches for your hips, hamstrings, and chest can keep you limber after sitting for a while. Try some twists and side bends, too. Check YouTube if you need some inspiration.
  5. Prioritize strength training. Focus on exercises that strengthen your core and glutes, like squats, bridges, and planks. This helps offset the muscle imbalances caused by sitting. Aim for two to three strength sessions weekly. Check YouTube for free strength-training videos for beginners or seniors for some ideas.

Making minor adjustments to your daily routine and committing to regular exercise can reverse the killer side effects of a seated and sedentary lifestyle.

Be consistent with these new habits, and you’ll notice improved posture, mobility, and energy levels.

P.S. THIS habit increases blood clot risk by 35%.
