Common Nutrient DEFEATS Aging!?

The funny thing about aging is it tends to sneak up on you. You don’t feel middle-aged or like a senior, but one day you wake up, and the calendar insists you are.

Most of us would like to live LONGER. To spend a little more time with those we care about doing the things we love.

But if you were told you could simply pop a pill and defy aging by adding nearly a DECADE to your life, you’d probably say, “Yea, right.”

After all, that does sound more than a bit far-fetched. Could living longer really be as simple as taking a pill?

Remarkably, according to a group of researchers, the answer may be a resounding, “YES!”

Aging researchers may have just uncovered the key to longevity in the most unlikely place.

In various animal studies, they found that taurine (an amino acid made by the body and found in some foods) appears to have a strong link to the aging process.

And that means a deficiency in this vital nutrient could put you on the FAST TRACK to aging.

Their study, published in the journal Aging, found that supplementing with taurine (in worms, mice, and monkeys) extends lifespan by up to twelve percent or nearly a decade.

Even MORE exciting is that the animals given the supplements were much HEALTHIER overall. They maintained a healthy weight, had lower blood sugar levels, and suffered less liver damage as they aged.

And let’s be honest, that’s what REALLY matters, right? I mean, sure, we’d all like to live longer. But not if we’re sick and miserable.

The researchers ALSO found that taurine decreased DNA damage and reduced senescent cells (those zombie-like cells that refuse to die as they should, wreaking havoc on our health).

Previous studies confirm that taurine plays a VITAL role in bone building, immune function, nervous system health, and weight management.

And you probably won’t be too surprised at this point to learn that our levels of this critical amino acid tend to drop as we grow older.

But that’s not all. When researchers explored taurine’s role in HUMANS specifically, they focused on a group of 12,000 older adults. And after some careful number crunching, a clear pattern emerged.

Those with the HIGHEST taurine levels had a significantly LOWER risk for diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure, and chronic inflammation.

Eat more shellfish (especially scallops, mussels, and clams) and the dark meat of turkey and chicken to boost your taurine levels.

But since it can be challenging to get ENOUGH taurine through diet alone, I suggest you also consider taking a supplement.

P.S. You know what they say about eating an apple a day. If you’re a senior, that daily apple hack has ANOTHER welcome benefit that could send your quality of life soaring. It may even SAVE it. Here’s how…
