CRAZY FDA Plot Targeting Seniors!

Dear Living Well Daily Reader,

You can’t turn on the TV these days without seeing some commercial for a prescription drug.

And they all end the same, right? With that laundry list of how that new “pill of the month” could wreck your health… or even kill you.

But now the Food and Drug Administration is considering removing those side effects from ads… forever.

It’s part of a disastrous plot that will leave millions of Americans (especially seniors) in harm’s way – all while making Big Pharma a fortune.

Why on Earth would the FDA prevent us from being warned about prescription drug dangers?

Because the drug companies want it, that’s why.

And, boy, oh boy, are they greedy.

Drug companies are pulling this stunt during a time of record profits for the pharmaceutical industry.

… and at the same time we are fighting an opioid addiction epidemic that was actually orchestrated by Big Pharma.

Can you believe the nerve of these guys?

Drug companies want to nix the side effects from advertising because they say you don’t really pay attention to them anyway.

First off, that’s nonsense. A 2014 study discovered that repetition does improve the likelihood that a someone will recall information about a drug.

Drug companies are no fools — they know you hear those side effects and it shapes how you view drugs.

You’ve probably even heard comedians make fun of the list of side effects (Jeff Foxworthy has a funny routine) because the side effects often sound worse than the disease.

Because they are.

When you take a drug for a health reason and a side effect pops up, there is (of course) another drug to deal with it.

This dangerous drug cycle is what Big Pharma wants, because it makes them a fortune.

It may be true, (if asked) you might have trouble repeating what cautions you just heard during a drug advertisement. But what the drug companies are worried about is that you are getting the Big Picture: drugs create as many problems as they fix.

I think the announcer fast-talking the list of side-effects is perfect: it makes you cautious of taking a drug… any drug.

Drug companies spend millions on making sure their advertisements are as positive as possible – from the naming of the drug, to the shape and color. Those pesky side effects destroy the happy image they are trying to create.

The FDA has already given drug companies the right to decide which side effects to highlight in those ads. That’s why (for example) erectile dysfunction ads say things like “may cause extended erections,” instead of “may cause heart attack.”

That is because most men don’t see extended erections as much as a problem (even though it can be extremely painful). But a heart attack warning is likely to keep men away.

All of this suggests one thing: you should be cautious about taking any drug.

There are plenty of good natural remedies that work just as good (if not better) than drugs – without the long list of side effects.

In the meantime, contact the FDA and tell them you don’t want warnings nixed from drug ads. Remind them whose side they’re SUPPOSED to be on.

Health and Happiness,
