Dr. Scott’s Healthy Prostate Plan
Dear Living Well Daily Reader,
A recent survey quizzed men and asked them about their prostate cancer risk.
When asked what the most common signs of prostate cancer were… most men had no clue.
They are afraid of telling the doctor about anything to do with their prostate because they don’t want to be put through the exam.
And with good reason… who really wants their doc to go there?
Fortunately, there are other ways for you to detect prostate cancer early… and ways to prevent it.
Today, I’ll share both with you.
If you’re over 50, you’re at high risk for prostate cancer, especially if you have a family history.
You’ll want to pay attention to this next part.
Prostate cancer usually causes urinary symptoms including:
- Having to “go” more often
- Waking at night to go to the bathroom
- And trouble starting or stopping urination.
If you or someone you love are having these symptoms, it’s time to get your PSA tested.
If you’re not having these symptoms, there are easy ways to ensure that you never have them.
Dr. Scott’s Prostate Health Program:
- Eat well: this means plenty of veggies and good proteins. Tomatoes, which contain lycopene, are especially good for the prostate. You should also avoid processed or sugary foods as much as you can.
- Get plenty of zinc: foods high in zinc include pumpkin seeds, beef, and spinach. Supplement to make sure you are getting enough.
- Herbs that support good prostate health include pygeum and stinging nettles.
- A fiber-like substance called beta-sitosterols are especially good for the prostate.
- Immune-boosting mushrooms: these medical mushrooms have thousands of studies that show they are helpful in boosting the immune systems, reducing spreading of cancer cells, and increase killing of cancer cells.
