HALT Colon Cancer… with Light!? (Strange)
Dear Living Well Daily Reader,
There’s one thing I agree with the mainstream on when it comes to cancer…
Prevention is key.
But despite all your best efforts—keeping up with doctor appointments, watching what you eat—sometimes you face a cancer diagnosis anyways.
And this is where my agreement with the mainstream takes a sharp turn… because their “scorched earth” policy will just leave you sicker.
But what if there were a way to make their method actually work… without destroying your health?
Researchers have uncovered an exciting secret light therapy that can HALT colon cancer.
And it’s much easier than you think.
There is a well-established relationship between high levels of vitamin D and low risk of developing colon cancer.
But what about AFTER you have colon cancer?
The new SUNSHINE study investigated how high doses of vitamin D could impact colon cancer treatments.
The study, published in the journal JAMA, looked at 139 people with previously untreated metastatic colorectal cancer and split them into 2 groups:
- The high dose group took 8000 IU of vitamin D each day for 2 weeks and then switched to 4000 IU a day.
- The low dose group took 400 IU (the recommended daily allowance for vitamin D is 800 IU a day for adults) each day for the whole study.
Both groups took standard chemotherapy during the trial.
At the end, the high-dose group was less likely to experience progression of their cancer or death in almost 2 years of follow-up than the low-dose group.
This means that vitamin D can help SLOW the growth of colon cancer… and keep it from killing you, too!
If that’s not a reason to get more vitamin D, I don’t know what is.
You can up your vitamin D levels by getting at least 15 minutes of unprotected sunlight every day.
Or you can get a vitamin D supplement from your local pharmacy.
As always – work with your doctor whenever you are taking a supplement.
P.S. Did you know there’s a simple way to stop colon cancer from even starting? Researchers discovered that can cause colon cancer… but they also discovered a way to stop it. Find out more .
