For years research studies have been done on populations that have nothing to do with the people who are going to take the drugs.

But where they fail the most is women.
Women are vastly outnumbered by men in studies. It is estimated that for each study done on women, almost six are done on men.
As a result, drug manufacturers rarely know how their products will affect women.
A new study has uncovered just how dangerous this can be.
Ladies, this mainstream drug could be DESTROYING your memory.
And there’s only one thing to do about it.

In a startling study, discovered that a drug designed to inhibit fear actually INCREASED it in female mice.
The drug, Osanetant, is designed to block a certain brain circuit (called Tac2 neuronal circuit). In theory, this is supposed to control the recall of fear memories.
It’s essentially like taking a NIGHTMARE pill to help you sleep.
In the study, researchers tested the effects of the drug on two groups of mice: male and female.
They saw that the drug did what it was supposed to in the male mice… but made the problem WORSE in the female mice.
Why was it worse for the female mice? It all boiled down to the essential thing that divides men and women: hormones.
Female mice experience a change in hormones called the estrous cycle. And this change in hormones is what made the drug so ineffective.
Hopefully drugs in the future will be tested with these differences in mind. As for now, it’s better to only use drugs when you absolutely have to. For most conditions there are much better ways to treat something naturally.
