Natural Duo SPEEDS COVID recovery?!

Dear Living Well Daily Reader,

One day, when I was still in medical school, our professor brought in a Native American healer.

He was ancient and needed help walking to his seat and sitting down. But he STILL had a commanding presence. And he said some things that day that will stick with me for the rest of my life.

His visit took place at the height of the HIV/AIDS pandemic. At one point, he gazed out the window and confidently said there was a plant out there that would cure AIDS.

He insisted that the world wouldn’t create something like a deadly virus without ALSO creating its opposite: something to treat the virus.

And so, here we are in the midst of another pandemic. And I’m convinced that there are plants out there that can help us overcome certain aspects of THIS coronavirus too.

It turns out I’m not the only one. A group of respected researchers agree.

A study published in the journal Frontiers in Nutrition found that a pair of common nutrients appears to speed up recovery from COVID-19.

Curcumin (an extract of the spice turmeric) and quercetin (a plant flavonol that’s a powerful antioxidant) appeared to slash recovery times from COVID in half for many folks in the new study.

The researchers recruited volunteers who were just diagnosed with COVID-19 and had mild to moderate symptoms such as fever and cough.

The participants were randomly divided into two groups. Everyone in both groups was given the current standard treatments for two weeks.

But twice a day, one of the two groups ALSO received…

  • 168 mg of curcumin
  • 260 mg of quercetin

By day seven, 45 percent more of the patients in the supplement group were COVID FREE than in the control group.

But the potential benefits didn’t end there. Forty percent of the folks in the supplement group ALSO had their more acute symptoms clear up by day seven, compared to just 16 percent in the control group.

This was a small study, so we need to see more research completed to confirm these findings. But the results are quite dramatic and shouldn’t be ignored.

Curcumin and quercetin are natural supplements with a long history of use. So if you’re ever exposed to the COVID-19 virus, I encourage you to ask your doctor about taking them as you recover.

Don’t forget that COVID-19 is still a serious disease, so you should always consult your doctor if you develop symptoms. And if you ever have any problems breathing, head to the emergency room immediately.

P.S. You don’t have to feel like you’re a sitting duck waiting around to get hit with your next round of COVID-19. Start with all the standard precautions we know by heart, such as frequent handwashing and social distancing. But there’s one more easy but effective trick you can try.
