New Health Threat HIDING in Fast Food!?

Dear Living Well Daily Reader,

Being an American and enjoying fast food seem to go hand in hand.

Everywhere you look, there are fast food restaurants. And there’s one for every type of food you can imagine!

It’s no secret that this sugar and fat-loaded food isn’t good for you, and while there’s nothing wrong with indulging every once and a while…

Once you hear about this startling discovery, you’ll probably never look at fast food the same again.

You see, researchers have found a new health threat HIDING in fast food.

And it could be toxic.

According to a new study in the Journal of Exposure Science and Environmental Epidemiology, your Happy Meal doesn’t just come with a free toy…

It could be full of plastic!

Research shows that plastic is showing up in your food is because of plasticizers (chemicals that make plastic soft and pliable).

Those soft plastics are used in containers for oils, sauces, and other liquids. But they’re also used in anything that wraps around the food. And, as you’ve probably guessed, most food in these restaurants is pre-made and individually wrapped in soft plastics.

In addition, most fast-food workers now wear gloves… which are made from the very same soft plastics.

The researchers found that 80 percent of food samples contained a phthalate known as DnBP, while 86 percent contained a plasticizer known as DEHT. Then, they discovered that 70 percent of the food contained a THIRD chemical called DEHP.

Phthalates are chemicals that have been linked to hormone disruption, learning disabilities in children, and infertility.

The best way to avoid them is to limit your trips to your nearest fast food joint. And while sit-down restaurants are not as bad, they still use a lot of plastic while making food. Unfortunately, it doesn’t help whether or not something is labeled “organic”—these foods can still be contaminated by packaging!

If you can, make sure to eat most of your meals at home. Save restaurants for special occasions to limit your exposure to these dangerous chemicals.

P.S. Did you know that phthalates could also send you to an early grave? Here’s everything you need to know.
