Popular Drugs RUINING Your Gut Health

If you want to live a long healthy life, you need start paying more attention to your gut.

And I don’t mean that sinking feeling you get when something bad is about to happen.

I mean taking care of the good bacteria in your gut (or your microbiome).

These bugs help you absorb nutrients and strengthen your immune system.

But for millions of Americans having a healthy gut is impossible.

Because a new study shows that a popular class of drugs can RUIN your gut… and take your health with it.

And I’m not talking about antibiotics.

It’s well established that antibiotics harm your gut.

And that makes sense. Antibiotics are designed to kill bacteria — both good and bad.

But as it turns out, there’s another type of drug that’s just as bad for your gut.

In a recent study, German researchers the impact of hundreds of drugs on gut bacteria.

At the end, the found that 24% of these drugs had a negative impact on your gut.

But that wasn’t the worst of it…

Anti-psychotic drugs — like aripiprazole, olanzapine and risperidone–were just as detrimental to your microbiome as antibiotics!

And here’s the kicker… these drug are often given to seniors for the “off-label” treatment of memory problems.

“Off-label” is just what it sounds is like. Using a drug to treat an illness it was not designed or tested for.

So there’s a chance your doc has got you one and it’s doing NOTHING for you.

Fortunately, there are ways to keep your microbiome healthy.

Let me show you how.

Dr. Scott’s Microbiome Maintenance:

  • Start with food: Eat a low-sugar, non-processed food diet (this will also help with your weight loss efforts). Eat as many vegetables and low-sugar fruits as you can.
  • Eat as much fiber as you can: (I prefer fiber coming from vegetables whenever possible). Fiber helps support healthy microbiome communities.
  • Eat fermented foods: My favorite fermented foods are sauerkraut, miso, and yogurt — these all contain healthy bacteria you need.
  • Take a probiotic: The only way to make sure you are getting enough healthy bacteria is to supplement.
  • Superfoods: I like a super-food blend that comes in a powder. It is easy to mix in with almost any meal and it provides healthy bacteria the foods they need to thrive.
  • Avoid antibiotics
