Popular Painkiller Ups Stroke Risk 3X?!

Dear Reader,

You would think that the safest drugs are the ones you can walk into any grocery store and pick up.

But that just isn’t true.

Over-the-counter (OTC) painkillers have been linked to all sorts of stomach and kidney issues.

If you have diabetes, one of these drugs could TRIPLE your risk of having a deadly stroke, too.

And it could be in your medicine cabinet right now.

I hear it all the time from the mainstream: Acetaminophen (Tylenol) is a safe choice for pain relief for most seniors.

But I’m here to tell you it’s NOT!

Acetaminophen is already known to harm kidneys, and he’s been linked to acute liver failure – especially in people who take every day.

But a new study, published in the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society, adds more to the list of acetaminophen’s dark side.

In the new study, researchers tracked strokes in seniors taking acetaminophen.

At the end, they found that diabetics who regularly took acetaminophen TRIPLED their risk of having a stroke.

That’s THREE TIMES the stroke risk for little pain relief.

And if you’re in pain, I get it. You reach for the pain relief you can easily get.

But next time you are hurting, you might want to think twice.

(In fact there’s one important thing you can do to STOP heart attack and strokes. Read here to find out more.)

There are risk-free ways to control your pain. Here are a few:

  • People have been using willow bark for thousands of years for pain relief. Willow bark contains a chemical called salicin, which is a key building block of aspirin. You get the benefits of aspirin without the side effects. Still, if you are sensitive to aspirin, then you may want to choose another natural pain reliever from this list.
  • Turmeric is a spice and powerful medicine. Turmeric and its extract curcumin have so many good uses that you should be taking turmeric or curcumin every day. Not only does turmeric block pain, but it also reduces inflammation, which is one of the main drivers of pain.
  • Epsom salt, which contains magnesium, is great for those sore muscles you get when you overdo your work or exercise. Try an Epsom salt bath next time you hurt your back – it will work wonders.
  • Fish oil is something I never get tired of talking about because most of us don’t get enough Omega-3 fatty acids in our bodies. When you do get enough Omega-3s, the result is a lot less inflammation and pain in the body.

These remedies are all safe and effective – and you also can find them at just about any supermarket.

P.S. There’s one important thing you can do to stop a heart attack or stroke from even happening. Go here to read all about the details.
