Save Your Eyesight… With EGGS?! (Shocking)
Eggs are one of the most controversial foods on the planet.
For years, the mainstream has told us to stay away from eggs because they contain heart-wrecking cholesterol.
Well as it turns out, conventional medicine has it all WRONG about cholesterol.
And they’ve really missed the mark on eggs, too.
Because research shows that eating more of this incredible food can help you live longer… boost your brain… and even keep your heart in tip-top shape.
Now, it looks like they can help save your eyesight, too.
Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD) is the leading cause of blindness in folks over the age of 50.
AMD destroys the macula (the back part of your eye), which causes a slow loss of vision that eventually results in blindness.
Macular degeneration is becoming more common. And one of the reasons for this uptick may be that you were told to stay away from eggs.
A new study, published in the journal Clinical Nutrition, analyzed the diet and eye health of 3,654 people for over 15 years.
At the end, they found that folks who ate eggs 2-4 times a week reduced their risk of developing AMD by a whopping 49 percent!
This means eating less than a half dozen eggs a week could be the best way to keep your vision in your golden years!
Why such a dramatic reduction?
Because eggs are a rich source of vitamin-like carotenoids called lutein and zeaxanthin.
Both lutein and zeaxanthin are well-studied compounds that neutralize the specific type of inflammation that causes macular degeneration.
So, if you want to keep your eyesight, make sure you load up on eggs.
And if you want to get the maximum amount of eye protection, choose pasture-raised or free-range eggs.
They have a higher lutein and zeaxanthin content than conventional eggs, which is shown by their rich orange-colored yolks.
