Sipping Soda Could DESTROY This Organ

Dear Living Well Daily Reader,

It’s pretty clear that popping a top on a can of soda is the smoking of our age.

Years ago, people smoked without any consideration for their health. And that’s because they just didn’t know any better. Nowadays you’d be hard-pressed to find somebody who thinks smoking is good for them.

That’s where soda is today. People gulp down these drinks without a thought about long-term health consequences.

Drinking a soda is already linked to a higher risk of diabetes, heart disease, and even cancer.

And now, we have proof that’s not the only danger you face from drinking soft drinks. Soda is also harming this other vital organ.

For years I have told people that drinking soda is the best way to put fat in their liver. That’s because your body can only handle so much sugar at a time, and when you drink a 16 oz (or more!) sugary drink, you’re flooding your system with the sweet stuff.

Your body, in all its wisdom, doesn’t want to waste all that precious energy you just gave it. So it converts that sugar into fat.

Guess where this fat conversion takes place? You guessed it: your liver.

That fat is then stored away for later use. This is why people who drink a lot of soda typically have more body fat.

But all this hard work comes at a high cost. Your liver gets damaged along the way. Because, as it converts all that sugar into fat, some of that fat then spills over into your liver’s cells and builds up.

This fat accumulation is called non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), and it‘s the first step on the path to liver failure and liver cancer.

NAFLD is a BIG deal. Studies show that almost 25 percent of Americans have the disease and drink their way to liver cancer and liver failure.

A team of researchers presenting their study at this year’s Endocrine Society’s Annual Meeting confirmed the danger. Drinking a lot of high fructose corn syrup (found in almost every soda) can lead to the development of NAFLD.

So, put down that soda and quench your thirst with something healthier instead, such as water, tea, or coffee. Your body… and battered liver… will thank you.

PS: Just one sugary drink daily can send levels of THIS killer substance soaring in your bloodstream. I’ve got all the disturbing details right here.
