WEIRD Vitamin D Thief REVEALED
I guess you’ve heard by now that vitamin D is kind of a BIG deal.
I’ve written about D’s MANY benefits more times than I can count. And for good reason.
After all, this powerful vitamin plays so MANY vital roles that it’s almost IMPOSSIBLE to be healthy without enough vitamin D in your veins.
But that “enough” part can be a challenge.
And as bizarre as it sounds, how your jeans fit could be a MAJOR clue why.
Let me explain…
The truth is ALL of us are at risk of running low on vitamin D.
In fact, studies suggest at least 35 percent of adults are deficient in this VITAL vitamin. And countless others are low.
But it’s not really all that surprising since we live so much of our lives indoors. Plus, many folks slather on sunscreen or cover themselves in protective clothing BEFORE they venture outside.
Thing is, lack of sun exposure isn’t the only cause of low vitamin D levels. There’s ANOTHER barrier standing between many folks and healthy D levels. And that’s BODY FAT.
Yes, your love handles and chubby cheeks could be causing your low levels.
You see, vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin. That means it gets STORED in fatty tissues.
So if you are someone with a bit TOO much junk in the trunk, D can get trapped in that fat. That means it can’t circulate in your bloodstream where it’s needed.
I’ve seen it time and again. Overweight patients… even those who DO get plenty of sun exposure… often have low blood vitamin D levels.
If you find yourself in that boat, there are two solutions:
- lose body fat
- supplement with vitamin D
I typically suggest both approaches until vitamin D levels stabilize.
