Wonder Compound STOPS Aging

A new study by the Mayo Clinic published in the journal Nature Medicine found two compounds that help to destroy senescent cells.
You may have not heard of senescent cells, but they play a big role in aging.
Senescent cells are cells that are neither dead nor alive – they are cells that once performed a job in the body, but instead of dying (like normal cells do) they just sit there.
This sounds like no big deal until you realize that senescent also pump out chemicals which quickly age our bodies.
The scientists in the new study found that they could reverse aging by giving mice quercetin (a bioflavonoid) and Dasatinib (a leukemia drug).
Their “senescent cell killing cocktail” worked and removed many of the senescent cells in the mice.
And it was great for the mice: they lived much longer and healthier lives.
While the leukemia drug is interesting, my bet is on quercetin for doing most of the heavy lifting of removing senescent cells.
So, if you want to live longer and healthier, quercetin is a no-brain.
And fortunately, it’s easy to get your hands on.
Foods like onions, leafy greens, peppers, andapples are all good sources of quercetin.
