Your CLEAN Home Is Hiding a DIRTY Secret

They say cleanliness is next to Godliness.

That means having a clean house is heavenly, right?

Well, yes AND no.

It turns out your sparkling clean home could be hiding a hazardous secret.

It turns out your kitchen floor—that’s clean enough for you to eat off of—could also be increasing your cancer risk.

Research revealed that many popular cleaning sprays, glass cleaners, air fresheners, detergents, and disinfectants contain harsh ingredients that can accumulate in your body over time.

These creepy chemicals can disrupt hormone function, sending your risk of breast, prostate, and thyroid cancer climbing.

Even worse, whether you breathe in toxic fumes from household cleaners or absorb them through your skin, they can silently wreak havoc on your health for YEARS before a diagnosis.

The Environmental Working Group (EWG), a non-profit organization in the United States, looked at 30 common cleaning products for dangerous volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

The research team uncovered a staggering 530 VOCs.

Of those, 193 are KNOWN to be hazardous, affecting lung health and increasing the risk of developing cancer. But the remaining 337 aren’t in the clear.

We simply have no idea yet how these chemicals might be impacting our health.

The biggest concern is long-term exposure. Studies show that folks who use these cleaners as part of their daily job are…

  • 50 percent more likely to develop asthma
  • 43 percent more likely to be diagnosed with COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease)

In fact, according to one disturbing study from 2018, regularly breathing cleaning products could be as bad for women’s lungs as smoking 20 packs of cigarettes daily.

But that doesn’t mean the occasional user who uses these products to clean their home is safe, either. Some chemicals can cling to surfaces and hang in the air for a long time.

And remember, even products labeled “natural” or “green” aren’t always safe and can contain hazardous chemicals. Check out the Environmental Working Group’s Top Green Cleaning Products page for more information on truly safer commercial cleaners.

Plus, there are items you likely already have around the house that can be used as non-toxic cleaners. For example, vinegar and baking soda are safe, versatile, and have stood the test of time.

So, go right ahead and make your home shine. But the grease and grime WITHOUT increasing your cancer risk.

P.S. Don’t miss these FILTHY FACTS about your cell phone.
