[SENIORS] Could This Vitamin SHATTER Your Bones?

Dear Living Well Daily Reader,

It’s common knowledge that vitamins are essential if you want to stay disease-free.

That’s why we load up on vitamin C for our immune system and calcium for strong bones (though you know how I feel about that one).

But as they say, too much of a good thing can become a BAD thing… and that’s exactly what researchers have discovered about this vitamin.

In fact, too much of it could SHATTER your bones.

Here’s everything you need to know.

*****

I’m talking about vitamin A.

You need vitamin A for many reasons. It is essential for your immune system, the growth of cells, and proper organ function.

But you can get too much… and the results are horrifying.

A new study from the University of Gothenburg found that consuming too much vitamin A decreases bone thickness.

This leads to weak bones that are more prone to fracture.

And as I’m sure you’re aware, the LAST thing you want as you age is something weakening your bones even more.

The research team found that in mice, sustained intake of vitamin A at 4.5 to 13 times the recommended daily allowance (RDA) caused weakening of the bones…

In as little as eight days.

The recommended daily allowance (RDA) for vitamin A is 900mcg for men and 700mcg per day for women.

If you take four times the RDA for men, that would be 3600mcg… and 13 times would be 11,700mcg. That’s A LOT of vitamin A.

But here’s the thing… no one should ever take that much vitamin A. That’s because nature and your body have the perfect way to regulate how much vitamin A you need.

The best way to get enough vitamin A is to take beta-carotene.

Beta-carotene is completely safe – even at mega-dose levels.

The beta-carotene molecule is actually two vitamin A molecules stuck together. When your body needs vitamin A, it can simply break the beta-carotene molecule in half and use it.

So, save your bones and get the version of vitamin A that nature intended: take beta-carotene. Stick with 6 to 15mg daily.
