BEAT Parkinson’s WITHOUT Physical Therapy!?

Dear Living Well Daily Reader,

If you have Parkinson’s, or know someone who does, you know that physical therapy is a big part of the treatment.

But being stuck in a room with other seniors doing the same painful exercises over and over isn’t exactly how you’d like to spend your time.

After all, the beautiful spring weather has just begun… and who wants to be stuck in a stuffy, sweaty room!

Well today is your lucky day.

Researchers have discovered a FUN way to fight back against Parkinson’s disease… and you can get some fresh air and sunshine while you do it!

With Parkinson’s disease, movement is everything. Many studies have shown that those who don’t get regular exercise and physical therapy aren’t as healthy as those who do.

But now, EVERYONE will want to get moving.

A new study shows that golf can help you stay fit and fight Parkinson’s disease!

Researchers gathered a group of seniors with Parkinson’s disease and assigned them to one of two groups: tai chi or golf.

And they noticed something right away… the golf group was doing MUCH better in their therapy!

Part of it could be simply that the golf group enjoyed their therapy more. Having fun with physical therapy is vital because it means someone is much more likely to make it a habit.

But it goes a little deeper.

As it turns out, both golf AND tai chi do something key: they rotate your spine.

And in Parkinson’s disease, that’s crucial… because retaining spine strength means retaining your balance.

Golf also involves many different skill sets. Putting is very different from hitting off the tee, chipping is different from hitting on the fairway. It’s one of the reasons why golf is so enjoyable (and so aggravating!): it takes a long time to learn each of the different aspects of the game.

But the main takeaway is this: it’s important to keep your body moving as much as possible, whether or not you have Parkinson’s.

P.S. Recent research made a startling discovery: this humble seed could help stop the progression of Parkinson’s. And it’s already in your kitchen cabinet.
