Lucky #13 Slashes Diabetes Risk 40%

When it comes to dodging diabetes, it’s all a numbers game.

And far too many of us are ending up losing that gamble these days.

Over 29 million Americans were diagnosed with diabetes in 2019. And over eight million had the disease and didn’t even know it.

If you’re a senior, the picture is worse. Nearly 30 percent of Americans over 65 have diabetes.

But it’s not ALL bad news. Research has revealed a simple solution.

It turns out you can get a HUGE payoff with just a little extra effort.

Just promise me you won’t delete my email when I reveal it… And you’ll give me a chance to explain.

The solution to avoiding diabetes is weight loss.

Now, if your instant reaction was frustration, trust me, I get it.

Because losing weight is SO much easier said than done! And that’s especially true if you don’t know how to even start.

But here’s the thing. When you find out how much (or really how LITTLE) weight the researchers found you need to lose to see your diabetes risk plummet, I’m guessing you’ll want to know more.

The study focused on over 550,000 overweight adults in the United Kingdom who had lost between 10 and 25 percent of their body weight.

The researchers then followed them for eight years. And to everyone’s surprise, they found that losing just 13 percent was linked to a dramatic 40 percent drop in diabetes risk.

Now, to put that into perspective, if you weigh around 160 pounds, that’s a manageable 20-pound weight loss.

But when you drop those pounds, the benefits don’t end with a steep reduction in diabetes risk. Folks who lost 13 percent of their weight also had a….

  • 27 percent drop in sleep apnea,
  • 25 percent reduction in high blood pressure,
  • and a 20 percent improvement in blood cholesterol.

Even their knee and hip arthritis improved. And all for a relatively modest amount of weight loss.

And losing the weight is easier than you might imagine when you have a plan.

Dr. Scott’s “Lucky #13” Plan to Kick-Start Weight Loss:

  • Reign in blood sugar: Since weight gain is almost always linked to elevated blood sugar, keeping your numbers in check is a great place to start. Take steps to lower yours. The supplements berberine, chromium, and Garcinia cambogia can all help with blood sugar control.
  • Kick the sugar: Remove sugary and carbohydrate-heavy foods from your diet. Replace processed foods with fresh and reduce the number of grains, sweet fruits, and starchy vegetables you eat.
  • Focus on the RIGHT foods: You need to eat plenty of protein to feel full, reduce your appetite, and kick cravings. Protein quickly fills you up and takes more energy to digest than any other type of food. Plus, it helps build muscle mass, pushing your metabolism into overdrive. Eat plenty of vegetables and switch to olive oil.
  • Keep moving: A combination of staying moving with everyday chores and regularly participating in an activity you enjoy, such as biking, walking, swimming, dancing, or golfing (without a cart) is the best way to lose and maintain weight loss. Avoid sitting for long periods.
  • Drink LOTS of water: Ditch the soft drinks, energy drinks, and juices and replace them with water. Not a huge water fan? Try these tricks for turning your water into a taste treat. Need a change? Unsweetened coffee and tea will kick your metabolism into high gear to help you lose more weight.

And another thing…
