MAILBAG: Build A BARRIER Against Cancer’s Return

Staying cancer-free after successfully fighting – and beating – malignant cancer. What is the best/most effective combination of supplements to take to assist in prohibiting cancer return?

– Karen, from Memphis, TN

Hi Karen,

First of all, let me say congratulations! Beating cancer is an incredible feat.

Many people who fight cancer and win find they have a new lease on life. They get less stressed than before their diagnosis. And focus more on what makes them happy and how they can help others.

This change ALONE can make an enormous difference in your long-term health. So I hope you’ve also found this to be true.

But that’s not all you can do to build some extra protection against cancer’s return. A healthy diet and supplements can provide additional support after recovery from cancer.

I typically recommend the following:

  • Fiber helps with regular bowel movements to remove toxins from your body.
  • Healthy proteins such as grass-fed and free-range meats are essential to a healthy diet. They provide your body with the fuel it needs to repair cells and make fresh new ones.
  • Immune-boosting medicinal mushrooms are backed by thousands of studies showing they boost the immune system, reduce the spread of cancer cells, and increase the killing of cancer cells.
  • Curcumin, an extract of the spice turmeric, is a natural anti-inflammatory and provides good antioxidant protection.
  • Fish oils contain essential omega-3 fatty acids that many folks don’t get enough of. Research suggests omega-3s could prevent or slow cancer development by slashing inflammation, slowing cancer cell growth and division, and stopping cancer cells from producing new blood vessels. If you’re not eating fish two to three times a week make sure to take an omega-3 supplement.
  • Polyphenols are phytonutrients found in fresh fruits and vegetables. Most people don’t get enough of them. Eat plenty of fresh produce and take a supplement if you think you’re falling short.
  • Antioxidants are vital for continued good health, especially those found in colorful fruits and vegetables. If you don’t get enough veggies in your diet, consider taking a supplement. Other important antioxidants include vitamin E (found in nuts and seeds), selenium (found in Brazil nuts, organ meats, and seafood), CoQ10 (found in organ meats, fatty fish, meat, and some vegetables), and astaxanthin (found in seafood).

And don’t overlook the value of exercise, which drives vital blood and oxygen to your cells.

Making some or all of these changes to your routine can go a long way toward helping you live a long, healthy life.

P.S. An exciting study found that THIS wonder food can lower your risk of cancer up to a whopping 45 percent. And it takes less than one serving a day! CLICK HERE to reveal the superfood.
