Mainstream Drug Causes Heart Disease and Cancer!?

Dear Living Well Daily Reader,

We’ve all grown far too used to side effects of mainstream medicine.

To be frank, we basically expect them!

Headaches… nausea… sleeplessness…

It all comes with the territory when you’re prescribed more of Big Pharma’s quick fixes.

But what happens when the “side effects” are heart disease and cancer?

Unfortunately, that’s exactly what you can expect with this new mainstream drug.

Yet no one is talking about it!

Long-time readers will know that I suggest you never take a new drug unless you absolutely need to.

That’s because so many drugs sneak through the approval process without being tested in a lot of people.

In fact, some drugs are approved after being tested in only a few hundred people… and most of them are young and healthy! There’s even a tendency to test drugs in only men (perhaps because women are too smart to sign up for drug trials). It all translates into shoddy trials with results that don’t actually represent the people who will be taking the tested drug.

And a new study published in the New England Journal of Medicine shows us exactly why you should wait to try a drug.

You see, a new type of JAK inhibitor called tofacitinib (Xeljanz) was approved for use in arthritis.

But recently, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) – not known for being overly cautious – has required the makers of tofacitinib to change their labeling. The FDA said the drug manufacturers must specify that tofacitinib is to only be used after another drug class, TNF inhibitors, has failed.

In other words, the FDA is specifying that this new drug should only be used as a last resort.

The FDA even went so far as to extend this warning to two other drugs in the same class: baricitinib (Olumiant) and upadacitinib (Rinvoq).

All of these JAK inhibitors increase the risk of heart attack and stroke. Not only that, the study showed JAK inhibitor increased the risk of cancer by 48 percent.

So, if you’re looking to help your arthritis (without all the nasty side effects), try the following:

Dr. Scott’s Four-Step Arthritis Solution:

  • Feed your joints. Make sure you have enough basic building blocks for your joints. Collagen, eggshell membrane, and vitamin C are all great sources of nutrients your joints need. These supplements are all widely available online.
  • Stop inflammation. Inflammation is lowered by avoiding vegetable oils, processed foods, and by eating a low-sugar diet. Fish oil is my favorite anti-inflammatory, and I like curcumin and Boswellia as well.
  • Diet. Eat good proteins and fish a few times a week.
  • Exercise. Joints become stronger when you exercise. Don’t try for anything crazy—simple walking can do wonders.

P.S. A fascinating study reveals that this non-invasive treatment is MORE effective than cortisone shots. Find out what it is right here.
